Spring is in the air, and I’m excited to share some great news with you! On April 18th, from 2 to 6 PM, the April Jamboree will be happening at Wildflower Mead and Beer Co in Navasota, Texas. It’s a lively event filled with music, delicious crawfish, and a variety of vendors. I’ll be there with my watercolor paintings, and my dad, Johnny, will showcase his woodworking. If you’ve ever wondered how my custom frames come to life, you’ll get to see the magic firsthand.

What to Expect at the April Jamboree

The April Jamboree is more than just a market. It’s a celebration of local talent, good food, and community spirit. The venue, Wildflower Mead and Beer Co, is a charming spot located at 16481 County Rd 319, Navasota, TX 77868. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a sunny afternoon with friends and family.

You’ll find live music that sets a fun, relaxed mood. The crawfish will be fresh and spicy, a real treat for seafood lovers. Plus, the vendors bring a mix of handmade goods, art, and unique finds. It’s a great chance to discover something special for your home or as a gift.

My Experience as a Vendor

I’ve been attending markets for several years now, and I can tell you, it’s always a bit nerve-wracking. Setting up takes a lot of time and effort. You want everything to look just right, from the display to the lighting. Plus, there’s always the worry about the weather. Watercolor paintings are delicate, and I can’t have them getting wet or damaged.

My dad’s woodworking comes helps make it all a one stop shop. Johnny makes all my custom frames, and they’re not only beautiful but sturdy enough to protect the art. Seeing his craftsmanship alongside my paintings feels like a family collaboration. It’s a proud moment every time.

Why Custom Frames Matter

Frames do more than hold a painting. They enhance the artwork and protect it from damage. My dad’s woodworking skills bring a personal touch to each frame. He uses quality wood and finishes that complement the colors and style of my watercolors. Most all of my paintings have frame options and the ones that I don't have on hand we can make.

If you’re thinking about adding art to your home, consider how a custom frame can make a difference. It’s not just about looks; it’s about preserving the piece for years to come. You can see some examples of his work at the event, and I’m happy to chat about how frames can fit your space.

Tips for Enjoying the April Jamboree

If you’re planning to come, here are a few tips to make the most of your visit:

  • Arrive early to get a good spot and browse before the crowd.

  • Bring cash as some vendors might not accept cards.

  • Wear comfortable shoes since you’ll be walking and standing.

  • Check the weather forecast and dress accordingly. The event is outdoors, so a hat or sunscreen might be handy.

  • Try the crawfish – it’s a favorite and worth tasting.

  • Take your time to chat with vendors. You’ll find stories behind each product, and it makes the experience richer.

Why I Love Sharing My Art at Markets

Markets like the April Jamboree give me a chance to connect with people who appreciate original art. It’s one thing to share paintings online, but meeting you in person adds a whole new layer of joy. I get to hear what moves you about a piece or how it might fit in your home.

Plus, it’s a chance to show the care that goes into each painting and frame. Every brushstroke and every cut of wood tells a story. I hope to grow a community of collectors who value art that feels personal and meaningful.

What Makes Wildflower Mead and Beer Co Special

The venue itself adds to the charm of the event. Wildflower Mead and Bear Co is known for its welcoming atmosphere and quality offerings. They craft mead, a honey-based drink, which pairs nicely with the laid-back vibe of the jamboree.

It’s a place where you can relax, enjoy good company, and discover new favorites. Whether you’re here for the music, the food, or the art, you’ll find something to love.
