Flyfishing in Durango, Colorado, is very popular. However, I usually only see men. As I was riding my bike on the outskirts of Durango, I came across Megan, a fly fishing girl, casting her line into a beautiful, small creek under a rustic bridge. Captivated by the scene, I asked if I could paint her, capturing her vibrant energy with bright greens and golds of the background. This painting not only celebrates the tranquility of Durango’s outdoors but also honors the pioneering spirit of women flyfishers.
